Out of the Darkness Experience 2020
Each year, suicide claims more lives than war, murder, and natural disasters combined. Yet suicide prevention doesn’t receive anywhere near the funding as other leading causes of death. It’s up to Walkers like us to make a difference. Together we can change the conversation about mental health and put a stop to this tragic loss of life. Want to learn more about how you can contribute? Check it out here!
The Out of the Darkness Experience aims to create a world without suicide. We asked participants to wear the color that they were walking for and think about how suicide affects our campus community and how we can bring awareness to stop suicide.
This year, the UCC participated in the Out of the Darkness Experience virtually. Pictured below are a few photos of our team on their walks. Although we were not able to walk together this year, we can still work together to break the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health.
